PIERRE-MICHEL MÉNARD

Pierre-Michel Ménard started singing at the tender age of twelve in Cap-Haitian, Haïti.

" Ever since I was small, I knew I would sing. It's been burning in me forever. Actually, I learned to sing and dance at the same time. "

Over and above this gut-level calling to the limelight, his first inspirations came from his mother and sister whom he heard singing in his youth at church in Haïti.

" We all listened to the great singers of the day: Joe Dassin, Gilbert Bécauld, Charles Aznavour. Only much later would I understand how profoundly my mum and my sister had influenced me . "

Singer / songwriter Pierre-Michel Ménard conjugates salsa, zouk, soca, calypso, soukouss , kompa and merengué. His repertory is a vessel through which the melding of talent and synergy yield an excursion, at no charge, to differerent regions of the world.

An artist without cause or frontier, born in Cap-Haïtian , a city in northern Haïti, Pierre-Michel Ménard , nicknamed The Chaméléon, adapts his style to all cultures.Through his songs, he fosters a message of universal brotherhood between all the world's people.

He loves to perform the work of francophone minstrels Gilles Vigneault, Pierre Bachelet, Jean-Pierre Ferland ,Claude Dubois and Luccio D'Alla.

Very young, he has predestined for a singing career. At twelve years of age, he won a singing contest for talented youth in his home town, and has since never ceased to pick up prizes and trophies. In addition, on stage he already demonstrated a sure talent as a dancer.

Pierre-Michel Ménard has toured from one end of Canada to the other, as well as in France and the French Caribbean.Based in Montreal since 1977, he has performed all over the city and several times at Club Soda, Club Ballattou, Kola Note, Théâtre de Verdure ( Parc Lafontaine ), the Spectrum, the Medley, Parc Jean-Drapeau and so on... Fabulous performances, where the meeting of emotion , pasion, song and dance command the attention of critics, resulting in excellent reviews.

He understands now how important the stage of his life has been in shaping his career.

" I am very happy to have gone that route. I have worked with artists like Emeline Michel, Eval Manigat, Septentrional Orchestra, Jesus Alejandro , Eric virgal, to name just a few. I have even had the chance to sing Les gens de mon pays before Gilles Vigneault at the Vues d'Afrique Festival. I openened for the late Martha Jean-Claude, Haïtian diva and ambassador of Haïtian folk music, upon her return to Haïti after 30 years in exile in Cuba. That's extraordinary !

Pierre-Michel Ménard is a world Beat music phenomenon.

The time has now come and he's ready to conquer the world !
